Providing what's missing from JD's See & Spray Nozzle Pocket Guide? - Part 8
Displaying Single-Spot AND Overlapping rates together on the same page!
Dear John Deere,
Doing the review of your Spot Spray Guide has opened my eyes to the problems your Dealers and customers face with nozzle selection. It is difficult to follow I have to say!
Understanding the relationship between isolated and overlapping nozzles is vital for correct nozzle selection. Unless you get that right and are clear on what your target objectives are, chemical batching and post job reporting will be suspect as well.
Consequently, we’ve simplified our App for See & Spray Dealers and customers to display both Single Spot (isolated nozzle) AND Overlapping nozzle rates together on the same page. That is intended to remove any confusion and provide clarity on the actual isolated nozzle rates your are applying right now which may come as a surprise to you.
in our App for See & Spray operators you can edit the spray width (based on field measurement) or edit the angle for rearward inclined nozzles at faster speeds for more accuracy.

If your customers prefer our ARAG Compact Fan Low Drift nozzles, as many of them do, we use a different calculation method. We physically measure the volume percentage in the 50cm Target Zone (the fat part) beneath each nozzle.
Because there is more volume in the centre section of the nozzle, it results in higher single spot (isolated nozzle) rates on the target than if calculated with the JD even spray method explained in Part 7.

Whether your Dealer Sales and Support staff use this App for your nozzles or ours, the application rates can be adjusted for field conditions, mathematically verified and relied upon for batching and reporting purposes There need never be any confusion again.
Many of your Dealers and customers already use the App. For new people coming on board, we just request they go through the registration process at App Central so that we can keep them informed of upgrades to the App as they occur.
Regards again,
Dave
